All of India's major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have blocked access to all leading torrent websites like The Pirate Bay and Torrent Reactor, and even video and link sharing ones like Vimeo, Dailymotion, Pastebin and Xmarks. This is based on a 'John Doe' injunction from the Madras High Court obtained by a film industry outfit in Chennai seeking protection against copyright violations of the Tamil film '3'. The film, somewhat ironically, came to national attention with its internet viral hit 'Why This Kolaveri Di'."

Government blocks file Sharing Websites Just because of the corporate order. We cannot let corporate Rule our country,

Namaste India.

We are Anonymous.

Fifty years ago, your freedom fighters laid down their lives for your freedom.

Today, your Government has taken away those freedoms.

The Government of India is shielding its ministers who are involved in corruption scandals. The Government plans to keep you ignorant about its tricks. They have censored out several websites that share information. Your Ministry of Communications & Information Technology & it’s minister Kapil Sibal is to blame.

Censorship of expression is the death of a democracy.

They do not care.

They do not care about the injustice happening.

We will not tolerate any more injustice.

We will not use violence, we will not break any laws, but we will retaliate. We will protest.

The media has hidden this information from you and the Government has failed to take our protests seriously.

Free speech is endangered.

If the government doesn’t unblock all websites by Saturday ,9th June 2012 4PM we will retaliate.

Every citizen of India is required to be wearing Anonymous’ (Fawkes) mask and assemble in the streets for a peaceful protest on 9th June.

Wear black head to toe, download and print Anonymous face mask and wear it.

Target public places to get maximum attention: outside malls, in markets, in front of your MP’s House.

Get banners, spread awareness in your city.

Make Facebook event Groups for your city.

Forward text message reminders, tell your friends.

Now is the time to be a part of history.

Bring your friends & family. Share the date, share the information, inform the press and media. Strength is in numbers: no matter how old you are, where you live, whatever you do, come out of your homes wearing the Anonymous mask.

Change your Display Pictures on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc to the Anonymous logo marking the date 9th June. Walk in public transport wearing Anonymous masks.

On 9th June 2012 the government will see its citizens rise.

This will be the start of a revolution.

We are Anonymous.

We are legion.

We are an idea.

An idea cannot be arrested.

An idea cannot be censored.

An idea cannot be stopped.

a peaceful protest
